We examine the site, take the X-rays the case needs, and talk through every option — an implant, a bridge, a partial denture, or leaving the gap alone. Some gaps genuinely don’t need filling, and we will tell you when yours is one of them.

A referral, with your records
If an implant is the right answer, we refer you to an oral surgeon or periodontist and send your X-rays and notes across, so you are not repeating the assessment or paying for it twice.

Placement with the specialist
The specialist places the implant and manages the healing period, which usually runs three to six months while bone grows onto the post. Their timeline and their fees, discussed with you directly.

Back with us
You stay with us for checkups, hygiene, and the rest of your dental care the whole way through. The gums around an implant still need cleaning, and that part we do look after.
What it costs
We charge for the assessment and any X-rays it needs. The implant itself is quoted by the specialist who places it, so that figure comes from them rather than from us. Our part is in writing before we start, and we will tell you plainly what the referral is likely to involve.

What to expect at Auburn Centre Dental
We are a general and family practice. Implant placement is surgical work that belongs with a specialist who does it every week, and saying so is more use to you than taking it on.
The assessment uses our iTero scanner rather than a tray of impression material, and everything we record goes to the specialist with you.
Questions people actually ask
Do you place implants at this practice?
No. We assess whether an implant suits your case and refer the placement to an oral surgeon or periodontist. We remain your regular dental practice for everything else.
Why refer instead of doing it here?
Implant placement is surgery with its own training and equipment behind it. A clinician who does it every week will do it more reliably than one who does it occasionally — so that is who we send you to.
Who will I be referred to?
An oral surgeon or a periodontist, depending on what your case needs. We will explain who and why before anything is sent, and you are free to choose someone else.
Will I have to repeat the assessment?
Usually not. We send your X-rays and clinical notes with the referral, so the specialist starts from what we already know rather than beginning again.
Does insurance cover implants?
Coverage varies widely, and a number of plans exclude implants altogether. The specialist can give you a written quote to submit for pre-determination before you commit to anything.
What are the alternatives?
A bridge, a partial denture, or in some cases leaving the gap as it is. All three we can carry out or talk through here, and the assessment covers them properly rather than steering you toward one answer.
