The exam
We look at your teeth, gums, and bite, and take X-rays where they’re needed, walking you through what we’re seeing as we go. If it’s your first visit, allow a little extra time for your health history.

A plan, in writing
If anything needs attention, you get a written plan that separates what should be done soon from what can safely wait — with a price for each item before you decide anything.

Fillings and small fixes
Most fillings are one visit under local freezing. You’ll be numb for a few hours afterwards, and the tooth can feel sensitive for a few days — that usually settles on its own.

Kids’ visits
Children’s appointments are kept short and unhurried, at their pace. Early visits are mostly about getting comfortable in the chair — treatment only when it’s actually needed.

Keeping it that way
Many people do well with a checkup every six to twelve months, but we’ll recommend an interval based on your mouth, not a fixed rule. Cleanings are covered on the Preventive Care & Hygiene page.

What to expect at Auburn Centre Dental
This is a digital-first practice — where a scan is needed, we use a small camera wand instead of impression moulds. First visits include a tour of the practice and unhurried time for your questions.
Every dentist here is registered with the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, and every treatment cost is put in writing before you commit. New patients and emergencies are welcome.
Questions people actually ask
Do you see children?
Yes — from first teeth through the teenage years and beyond. Children’s visits are kept short and at their pace, especially at the start; the early goal is a child who’s comfortable in the chair, not a lot of dentistry done quickly.
I haven’t seen a dentist in years. Will I get a lecture?
No. We’ll tell you where things stand and what your options are, in plain language. What happened before today isn’t the appointment — and you won’t be pushed into treatment you haven’t agreed to.
Does getting a filling hurt?
Fillings are done under local anesthetic, so you shouldn’t feel sharp pain while we work — tell us if you do, and we’ll stop and add more freezing. The numbness wears off over a few hours, and the tooth can feel sensitive to cold or biting for a few days after; that usually settles on its own.
How often do I need checkups?
It depends on your mouth, not a fixed rule. Many people do well with a visit every six to twelve months; if your teeth or gums need closer watching, we’ll explain why and what interval makes sense for you.
What happens if the exam finds something?
We show you what we’ve found and explain it in plain words. Then you get a written plan:
- What needs attention soon, and why
- What can safely wait, and what we’ll watch
- What each item costs, in writing, before you decide
